Elmar Mammadyarov meets with a counselor of the Romanian President for Strategic Affairs, Security and Foreign Policy

Baku-APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the Presidential Adviser on Romania’s strategic issues, security and foreign policy of Julian Kif, APA reports quoting the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

The meeting discussed were issues related to bilateral relations, prospects for enhanced cooperation, energy projects, etc.

Romanian guest appreciated the geopolitical importance of Azerbaijan, the country’s participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, transit opportunities in the region.

Julian Kif also stressed the importance of the Final Declaration, signed at the 20th summit of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

In turn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan noted that Azerbaijan’s foreign policy in the region, based on national interests of the state.

The meeting participants also discussed other issues concerning the development of bilateral relations.
