Abdullah GÃ¼l: â€œTurkey will do best to achieve new impetus for the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperationâ€

Istanbul. Mais Alizadeh â€“ APA. The 20th Anniversary Summit of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) has started in Istanbul. APA correspondent form Turkey reports that Turkish president Abdullah GÃ¼l delivered keynote speech in the summit, which President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also participates in this summit. GÃ¼l underlined that organizing has been completed successfully in this time. The Turkish president said that the aims of BSEC is to strengthen the cooperation in the region, economic relations in the ground of peach, stability and tranquility between the regional countries and to reach welfare level of people to the world standards.

GÃ¼l note that Istanbul Declaration signed 20 years before was a document to give its contribution to the reestablishment of the region after the collapse of USSR and ending of Cold War: â€œThe organizing has already completed and we must revive the spirit of Istanbul Declaration. We will try to prepare road map of next decades.â€

The Turkish president said that intention of the BSEC will be reflected in the next declaration, which will be announced today.

He also noted that Turkey will take over presidency of the BSEC on July 1: â€œTurkey will do best to achieve new impetus for the organization as 20 year before.â€

He wished successes to leaders of the organization who will be elected for the new time.

The meeting is being continued.

The ways of the settlement of frozen conflicts are expected to be discussed at the summit.

The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation was established 20 years ago on the purpose of strengthening and developing the economic cooperation between the countries of the region. At present the total area of member countries is 20 million sq m, but the number of inhabitants taking together is 240 million.

The main goal of the organization is to develop cooperation between member counties in such spheres as transport, trade, economic development (the most significant field), communication and information technologies, science, tourism, education, customs and also investment.

The organization was established with support of the Parliamentary Assembly and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank.
