PACE Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights adopts draft resolution on Strasser’s report

The Committee adopted a draft resolution on the report on political prisoners made by the German parliamentarian Christopher Strasser. The draft resolution will be sent to the PACE’s next plenary session, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samed Seyidov told journalists.
According to Seyidov, 26 parliamentarians supported the document, but 22 voted against. He said the document didn’t concern only Azerbaijan, but covered general concept of political prisoner. Azerbaijani parliamentarians also voted against this draft resolution.
Christopher Strasser didn’t visit Azerbaijan and prepared this report on the basis of the list submitted by some NGOs.
