PACE summer session starts today

APA reports quoting the PACE press service that special discussions on Azerbaijan are not expected during the session.
Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Croatian president Zoran Milanović will make speeches at the session, PACE will hold debates on “Democracy at risk: the role of citizens and of the State todayâ€, discuss financial and economic crisis, the situation in Tunisia, the state of human right activists in the countries of the Council of Europe, discrimination against Muslim women in Europe.
The state of Christians in Egypt, the influence of establishment of post of the EU special representative for human rights to the mechanisms of human rights will be included in the session’s agenda.
8 lawyers to the European Court of Human Rights and new deputy secretary general will be elected at the session. The session will end on June 29 and the Azerbaijani delegation will participate in the session.
