Azerbaijani Foreign Minister receives new French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Meunier - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

The press service of Foreign Ministry told APA that Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Pascal Meunier on his appointment to the post of Ambassador in Azerbaijan and wished him success. Elmar Mammadyarov said he hoped new ambassador would contribute to the development of the cooperation between the states.

French diplomat Pascal Meunier said he was satisfied with his appointment to the post of ambassador and also underlined that Azerbaijan is modern, tolerant and multi-cultural state.

Touching upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict Elmar Mammadyarov said that prolongation of the conflict solution is unacceptable. Minister said that the most important aspect in the conflict solution is that Armenia must withdraw their troops from the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. He said the distortions by Armenian side are unacceptable and the fact of occupation must be called with its own name.

In his turn French diplomat Pascal Meunier said that Azerbaijan and France have many common interests. He also mentioned that the countries have a good potential for further development of cooperation between the two countries in various spheres, including security field.

The ways of development of mutual cooperation in economical sphere were also discussed at the meeting.
