According to APA’s European bureau, the statement prepared by the member of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Ganira Pashayeva signed by members of different states. This paper document was read at the meeting by the head of Jean-Claude Minyon and was adopted as an official statement of the PACE.

The statement of PACE states that the Khojali tragedy is one of the most bloody and terrible page in history. PACE described the Khojali genocide and mass as an inhuman act of terrorism.

“On 26 February of this year, its 20th anniversary of the occupation of Khojali town and destruction of its inhabitants on an ethical principle by Armenian armed forces with support 366th infantry regiment of the Soviet army. During the Khojali genocide killed 613 people, including 106 women and 63 children, 70-year-old man, about one thousand people were injured, 8 families were completely annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, 25, both parents. 1275 people were taken hostage, the fate of 150 of them still is unknown”, - the PACE statement says.

The statement of PACE notes that the Armenian armed forces completely destroyed Khojali city and calls on the other international organizations to give a legal assessment of this tragedy. "Taking into account this, We (MPs signed a statement), call on international organizations, including PACE, to give a political and legal assessment of inhuman, cruel acts of the Armenian armed forces”, - the statement said.
