Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh: â€œThe decision of the French Parliament is a task-oriented provocation not only against Turkey, but entire Turkic world, including Azerbaijanâ€

Press service of the CMB told APA that his message expresses concern of the believers of the region, including Azerbaijani Muslims.

The statement reminds the Bibleâ€™s exhortation â€œJudge not, that ye be not judgedâ€ and underlines that the National Assembly of France, which is considered as a center of the European culture and world democracy, has passed very controversial and dangerous decision: â€œThe question is the step taken towards the adoption of the draft law considering the criminalization of denial of â€œArmenian genocideâ€. We say unambiguously that this decision voted by a group of members of the French National Assembly with the instigation of Armenian lobby, doesnâ€™t contribute to the strengthening of peace and justice, but it is a provocation directed to the falsification of history and aggravation of hatred. The Caucasian Muslim Board assesses it as a task-oriented provocation not only against Turkey, but entire Turkic world, including Azerbaijan. We also expressed our protest in 2001 when France officially recognized the made-up â€œArmenian genocideâ€. Now, we assess the discussion of this absurd issue as a biased fanaticismâ€.

The message also noted that the French parliamentâ€™s decision has an anti-democratic essence, which was directed against the human rights. â€œThis decision is directed against freedom of thought, opinion and expression and it creates the situation of moral dictation. This decision, which doesnâ€™t correspond with the justice, democracy and human principles, can cause serious consequences and tragedy. We, the religious figures, regard as a sacred trust in front of Allah and humanity to inform you about the dangerous development of this moral instigation. Our Supreme Creator says in the Holy Quran: â€œHelp ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment!â€ (Al-Maidah,3). The risk of this decision is its tragic consequences, because, in substance, the problem which is a dispute topic in Turkish-Armenian relationships is not only ethnic, but it can pass into inter-religious confrontation and change into global Christian-Muslim clashes. This anti-Turkic decision, which can be an example of double approach to the humanityâ€™s bloody memory, can be a part of the anti-Muslim propaganda. This religious initiative hits the pleasant imaginations of Muslims about France. Thus, France didnâ€™t express its protest when the Armenian aggressors committed the real genocide fact in Azerbaijani city of Khojaly in February, 1992. Though there are witnesses, historical proofs, visual evidences of this bloody tragedy. Such step of France justifies Armeniaâ€™s occupation policy, and leads to the new genocide and new aggressionsâ€.
It was underlined that the decision of the French Senate cast shadow upon the destiny of settlement processes which are important for the Caucasus: â€œWe hope that the protests of the millions of people will be considered and France will show its loyalty to the reality and fair ideals, its intention to peace. As a religious figure, I preliminary perceive that such decisions bring very painful consequences. I call You and Senate members to support Truth and Justice by relying on the basic principle of the world religions and human values, and to stop the discussions and not to approve the law. Let the Supreme Creator help all of you!â€
