Baku. Habil Suleymanzadeh â€“ APA. Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku. According to APA, after the meeting Elmar Mamadyarov told journalists that the embassy of Azerbaijan will be opened in Baghdad next year and it will stimulate the Azerbaijan-Iraqi relations. Elmar Mammadyarov said Iraq supported Azerbaijan in the international arena. â€œIraq supports Azerbaijanâ€™s position on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the framework of UN, OIC and other international organizationsâ€. He said foreign ministries of both countries further would hold closer consultations.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said he has held fruitful talks with the President and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan today. Reminding about the Azerbaijanâ€™s contribution to the stability in Iraq within the international coalition forces, Zebari said they were looking forward for the opening of Azerbaijani embassy in Iraq soon. â€œWe discussed the issues of visa-free travel for diplomats and opportunities for the young Iraqi diplomats to get education in Azerbaijanâ€.

Hoshyar Zebari said they also discussed the participation of Azerbaijani companies in reconstruction process in Iraq, which is in transition period and seriously needs in it. The sides also discussed the latest developments in the Arab countries, current state of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and regional issues as well.
