Adoption of a draft law on made up “Armenian genocide†in France was protested in Azerbaijan - SURVEY
According to political scientist Vafa Guluzade, the decision to adopt the law in France has the nature of the campaign. "Nicolas Sarkozy is being very weak president, taking such a shameful, contrary to normal logic and culture of the decision, seeking the votes of five hundred thousandth of the Armenian population of France. I welcome the strong position of Turkey on this issue", - he said.
The political scientist expressed the hope that Azerbaijan made a similar position, as in Azerbaijan and enough claims to France. Baku should demand that France withdrew from the OSCE. France is anti-Turkish policy. Propose to cancel the agreement with French oil company "Total", he said.
Guluzade expressed confidence that the decision of the French parliament will not have a result. "Europe can not forget the historic achievements of the Turks, so anti-Turkish take decisions", - he said.
According to the Chairman of the "Musavat" Isa Gambar, Azerbaijan should express unequivocal protest against the passage of this bill. "This decision was primarily directed against the history, science, progress, human rights and freedoms. On the other hand there openly visible political overtones. This law along with Turkey and is directed against Azerbaijan. Therefore, it is necessary that Azerbaijan has demonstrated unequivocally strong position. It would be advisable to hold a meeting of the Council of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which would develop a common position on this issue", - he said.
Isa Gambar noted that he do not believe the possibility of adopting the law in the Senate of France. “This law will weaken opportunites of France on foreign affairs and because of this French officials will not allow it. On the other hand, French politicians should know that political leaders of Azerbaijan, as in France, will bring the attention of the French public the truth about the events occurring in the early 20th century. It turns out that the French government will be forced to make mass arrests of people who express their opinions objectively. This is so absurd that French politicians have to refuse to continue this processâ€, - he said.
Member of Parliament Ganira Pashayeva told APA that during the genocide of the Jews in Europe, Turkey sheltered Jews in their land: “The decision of French parliamentarians was protested, as in Azerbaijan, in all Turkic world. This solution has a negative effect on the activity of France as co-chair of OSCE Minsk Groupâ€.
According to her, now no one in Azerbaijan will believe France’s fair approach to settlement of the Karabakh conflict. France has demonstrated that it is not an impartial mediator.
Ganira Pashayeva believes that approval of the law in the Senate of France would have a negative influence in the Azerbaijani-French relations and the role of France in the OSCE. "The decision of French parliamentarians contradicts principles of human rights and freedom of speech. France will take full responsibility for problems that would entail the adoption of this billâ€, - said.
