APA’s Europe bureau reports that the French parliamentarian has announced it on his website. He says the legislative government must give up dealing with the historical issues.
“France should not see itself in the role of international prosecutor. France is officially continuing to consider the historical events which it was not involved in. This bill is the next step towards the interference in history. If France takes this step, it must not be surprised at the interrogation about its past. Moreover, I do think that the adoption of this document will facilitate the process of reconciliation between Armenia and Turkey. There is no reason why we shouldn’t share the grief of all victims, including of the Armenian people. Therefore, I will not vote for this document,†he said.
