Mexicoâ€™s Chamber of Deputies adopts decision strongly condemning genocide committed by Armenian armed forces in Khojaly

The Chamber of Deputies gave detailed information about the history of the conflict and emphasized that twenty percent of the Azerbaijani territories are under the Armenian occupation, about one million people turned into refugees and internally displaced persons, four resolutions of the UN Security Council have not been fulfilled yet, despite ceasefire agreement reached in 1994, there are the facts of breach of the ceasefire by the Armenian side and the Azerbaijani civil population is still suffering physically and morally from that.

The deputies strongly condemned the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, Azerbaijanâ€™s human losses and genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces in Khojaly.

The Mexican parliamentarians regrettably mentioned that the conflict remains unresolved and called the sides to continue dialogue towards the solution to the conflict.

Taking into account the existence of one million refugees and internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan Republic, it is recommended to present a report to the Congress of Mexico through the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations regarding the humanitarian crisis in the country.

The Permanent Mission of Mexico to the United Nations is recommended to call on the Armenian government to fulfill the resolutions of the UN Security Council and withdraw its troops from the occupied territories.

The decision envisages appeal to the international organizations on behalf of the state of Mexico calling Armenia to cease acts of violence against the civilian population of Azerbaijan, to withdraw its troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories, calling all the sides interested in the resolution of the conflict to prevent more large-scaled conflict in the region and establish peace and security in the region.
