Baku hosts conference â€œModernization policy: new economic and social challengesâ€ - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

APA reports that delegations from more than 10 countries are attending the conference.

Executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov said after the fall of the USSR, new political and economic challenges appeared in this area. Underlining great progress in Azerbaijanâ€™s economy within 20 years of independence, Ali Ahmadov said the poverty level fell from 49% to 8%.
â€œIt happened as a result of the successful economic projects implemented in the country. We pay much attention to the modernization of the country, economy,â€ he said.s

Ali Ahmadov added that 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories has been under occupation for 20 years, it impacts on the economic situation in the country and in the region.

Chief of public policy department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov read President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s letter to the participants of the conference. The letter reads:
â€œThe development and welfare of future generations depend much on finding correct answers to the challenges. Therefore, I praise the active dialogue on the abovementioned challenges with the participation of delegations from foreign countries. Azerbaijan has recently marked the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its state independence. The politicians, scientists, public figures, who have come to Baku with the view of exchanging views on new economic and social challenges, have opportunity to witness the reforms carried out in the country and their results. Modernization is the main essence of our policy, major line of the way leading us to development. Azerbaijan can be considered a successful place to hold discussions on the theme â€œModernization policy: new economic and social challengesâ€. I believe that the presentations about various national practices, will be strong support for the efforts towards the solution of the problems troubling the society.â€
