Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva – APA. Azerbaijani Consulate General in Aktau is constantly contacting with the Azerbaijanis living in Zhanaozen, Consul Elkhan Zeynalov told APA.

He said no Azerbaijani was injured in the unrests.
“The situation in Zhanaozen is stable. But there is food shortage in the city due to the state of emergency. In connection with it, two families decided to temporarily move their relatives’ house in Aktau. The representatives of the Consulate and Diaspora helped them,” he said.

“We continue keeping the situation under control, constantly contact with our citizens, give them all necessary phone numbers to contact with the Consulate in case of emergency.”

15 000 Azerbaijanis live in Mangystau province of Kazakhstan. 1700 of them have permanent registration, 2000 temporary registration. 50 Azerbaijanis live in Zhanaozen, where mass unrests happened.

To the question “Can the happenings in Zhanaozen impact on the transportation of grain from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan?” Elkhan Zeynalov said it is impossible.
“The grain is transported from Atyrau, the city, which is situated far from Zhanaozen,” he said.
