Azerbaijan outlines top priorities of its GUAM chairmanship

a) Resolution of the conflicts in GUAM area;
b) Cooperation in the sphere of law-enforcement bodies; (struggle against smuggling of drugs, terrorism, cooperation between border services and customs services, human trafficking and illegal migration)
c) Joint activity within the framework of international organizations;
d) Cooperation with other countries and international organizations (format of GUAM+);
e) Interparliamentary cooperation within the framework of GUAM (GUAM Parliamentary Assembly);
f) Joint activity in economy and offering opportunities for cooperation of GUAM business circles;
g) Cooperation in communications, transport, information technologies;
h) Development of transport corridors of GUAM;
i) Cooperation in energy security and alternative energy sources;
j) Cooperation in the sphere of emergency situations;
k) Cooperation in tourism;
l) Cooperation in science, especially in the field of nano technologies

Azerbaijan took over GUAMâ€™s chairmanship at the meeting of the GUAM foreign ministers in Vilnius on December 7, 2011.
