William Fraser said after the appointment he paid his first visit to Azerbaijan. Noting that December 12 is a special date for the Azerbaijani people, William Fraser said he will visit Heydar Aliyev’s grave in the Alley of Honors. Touching on Azerbaijan’s activity in the struggle against terrorism, William Fraser highly appreciated our country’s role in the transportation support regarding the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
The head of state underlined the importance of William Fraser’s visit in terms of enhancing the cooperation. Underlining that Azerbaijan has been functioning in the international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan from the first, Ilham Aliyev said humanitarian cooperation is enhancing.
They exchanged views on the continuation of the joint activity of Azerbaijan and the US in the struggle against international terrorism, security and energy cooperation.
