Baku - APA. Russia plans to finish the construction of “Voronej-VP†new radar station in Gabala, Azerbaijan in 2019. This station will replace Daryal-type radar station functioning in Gabala, Executive Chief of OJSC “Radio-Technology Institute named after Academician A.L.Mintz†Vladimir Savchenko said, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.
“The question is about the high-potential metric-range station with high operational compatibility. Though the station is planned to be installed in 2017-2019, everything depends on the will of our neighbors. The final agreements will be reached at political levelâ€.
Savchenko said that the question was not the destruction of Daryal-type station, because the station was Azerbaijan’s property: “The new station will be Russian property. I remind once again that this will be a module-type station. That is, it is possible to destroy and reset this station anytimeâ€.
