OSCE presidency calls Minsk Group for progress on negotiations

Vilnius. Victoriya Dementyeva-APA. The18th OSCE Ministerial Council meeting finished in Vilnius, Lithuania. The declaration, on behalf of Lithuania, a current chair of the organization, was made public, APA reports.

The declaration of the foreign ministers welcomed the progress made since the summit in Astana and decided to take further steps to increase the effectiveness of the organization.
Solution of the frozen conflicts in the region was also reflected on the document. The Lithuanian presidency expressed the need to strengthen efforts in solution of existing conflicts peacefully.
"We urge the Minsk Group and the parties of the conflict to take the necessary steps to achieve a progress in talks on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the document reads.
At the meeting of Ministers, Mongolia’s adoption to the organization was decided.
Presidecy of the organization in 2012 was passed from Lithuania to Ireland.
