18th Meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council starts in Vilnius- <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Vilnius. Viktoria Dementyeva – APA. The 18th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council has started in Vilnius. APA’s correspondent reports from Vilnius that the foreign ministers of about 45 OSCE member states are attending the meeting. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and French Minister for European Affairs Jean Leonetti are also attending the meeting.

The agenda of the OSCE Ministerial Council includes protracted conflicts, energy security, cyber security, struggle against illicit drug trafficking, cooperation for the formation of the environment of confidence, cooperation for ensuring security in Afghanistan and other issues. At the end of the meeting Ireland will take over the OSCE chairmanship from Lithuania. Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov represents Azerbaijan at the meeting.

Addressing the opening ceremony Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė gave information about the work done during her country’s chairmanship of OSCE. Touching on the resolution of the protracted conflicts, President said the resolution of such conflicts delays too much. She underlined that some progress was made towards the resolution of the protracted conflicts during Lithuania’s chairmanship of OSCE. Mentioning Transnistrian conflict Dalia Grybauskaitė said after six years the sides resumed the official talks towards the resolution of the conflict.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov plans to hold a number of bilateral meetings.
