Serbian Ambassador: Our cooperation with Azerbaijan is enhancing day by day and reaching the level of strategic partnership

Viktoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. â€œPresident Ilham Aliyevâ€™s decision on restoration of the mosque in Belgrade and construction of church in Vojvodina is the indicator of multiculturalism of Azerbaijan,â€ Serbiaâ€™s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zoran Vajovic told journalists, APA reports. Commenting on the issues on development of the bilateral cooperation, Ambassador said Azerbaijani embassy in Serbia put forward an initiative for implementation of several humanitarian and cultural projects.
â€œUnder the executive order of Azerbaijani President, work is being done towards the restoration of the mosque in Belgrade burnt in 2010, and construction of the church in Novi Sad city of Vojvodina. Azerbaijani embassy in Belgrade is dealing with this matter and we are grateful for this decision,â€ he said.

The diplomat said one of the meeting halls at Serbian Foreign Ministry was named after Azerbaijan. Within the framework of the project on repair of the halls of the Serbian Foreign Ministry, one of the halls was repaired by Azerbaijan, meetings are being held there.
â€œOur cooperation is enhancing day by day and reaching the level of strategic partnership. We are strengthening our political, economic and cultural relations,â€ he said.

According to Zoran Vajovic, the trade turnover between the two countries has been less than $10 million this year, but there is mutual interest in the development of the trade relations, infrastructure, construction of roads.
