President Ilham Aliyev invites his Italian counterpart to official visit to Azerbaijan - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku â€“ APA. On December 2, Azerbaijanâ€™s First Lady, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, who is on an official visit to Italy, met with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano. APA reports quoting â€œAzerTAcâ€ state agency that Aliyeva named Italy a friendly country for Azerbaijan, and said that Italy was one of the first countries where the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence was marked.

She expressed satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijan-Italy relations and noted that it was necessary to extend the relations between the countries in cultural sphere. Many events, as well as the week of Azerbaijani culture will be held in this respect in Italy in 2012.

In his turn, Italian President said that the events organized in Rome on 20th anniversary of restoration of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence would give an impetus to the development of cultural relations. President said that Azerbaijan and Italy had good relations in political and economical spheres.

Napolitano said he was familiar with the activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in cultural sphere.

Aliyeva invited Italian President to the official visit to Azerbaijan on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.

Then considering the significance of projects implemented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Italian President presented memorial board to Azerbaijanâ€™s First Lady.
