Baku – APA. Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received Thomas Russell, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to Azerbaijan, who is residing in Ankara, Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA. Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Ireland on behalf of Azerbaijan on the occasion of OSCE Chairmanship in 2012.
Ambassador congratulated Azerbaijan on the election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2012-2013, and said dynamic development is observed in Azerbaijan. The diplomat expressed his confidence that Ireland will function constructively during the chairmanship of OSCE.
Elmar Mammadyarov underlined the importance of the role of the international organizations in the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and said the conflict must be solved within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
Various issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
