According to APA, the ambassador told journalists that the State Department strongly condemned the attack on the embassy of the US ally, the United Kingdom in Iran. “The seriousness of this issue, recall of the UK diplomats from this country and Iranian government’s decision to close the British embassy clarify everything. I saw very few facts during my diplomatic career that some country decides to close an embassy of another country in its territoryâ€.
The ambassador said US Congress was reviewing the legislative basis for tightening sanctions against Iran. “We are attentive to the issue of coordination of our joint work and steps with our partners in the international communityâ€.
