Azerbaijani President awarded with â€œHonorable citizen of Astrakhan cityâ€ diploma

Bojenov said that by the decision of the Astrakhanâ€™s City Duma, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was awarded with diploma of â€œHonorable citizen of Astrakhan cityâ€ and presented the diploma and medal of â€œHonorable citizen of Astrakhan cityâ€ to the President. He underlined that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has also been recently awarded with diploma of â€œHonorable citizen of Astrakhan cityâ€ and said that he was proud of that Azerbaijani President and Russian Prime Minister are the honorable citizens of his city.

The Head of State thanked the Astrakhan City Duma and cityâ€™s leadership for the decision on awarding him with the diploma. He expressed satisfaction with the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, including the cities and underlined the high level relations between Baku and Astrakhan.

The President reminded his visit to Astrakhan and the opening of Heydar Aliyevâ€™s monument there. He noted the role of Azerbaijani businessmen in restoration of Astrakhanâ€™s agriculture and infrastructure and development of education sphere, as well as underlined that all these events would contribute to improvement of relations between the countries and cities.
