Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representation to UNESCO said Grenada was elected as president of the Committee, Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Madagascar and Morocco as vice-presidents and Spain as a rapporteur.
It was decided to hold the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Grenada.
Alongside with 27 nongovernmental organizations, it was recommended to accredit 2 nongovernmental organizations of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan Union of Carpet Weavers and Music World Public Union). The NGOs will be accredited at the 4th session of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012.
