The cooperation and mutual relations between the two countries rest on basic principles of the international lawâ€, Rabiyyat Aslanova, Chairperson of Human Rights Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, said, APA reports.
She said that the future development prospects of Azerbaijan-Iran relations are seen successful from this perspective: “Any position of the West on Iran is their own positions. The West has less opportunity to influence Azerbaijan-Iran relations. Azerbaijan is pursuing an independent policy, and doesn’t do it by the desire of any country. Azerbaijan pursues friendly neighborhood policy in regard to all neighboring countries except Armenia. The West doesn’t influence Azerbaijan. If even it does, Azerbaijan will persist in its position and act on the basis of international legal principles in its policy on Iranâ€.
