Date of first meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council made public

Baku – APA. The date of the first meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council has been made public. APA reports quoting the Zaman newspaper that the meeting will be held in Izmir on October 25-26.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will lead the Turkish delegation, President Ilham Aliyev will lead the Azerbaijani delegation at the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The main theme of discussion will be the enhancement of economic, commercial relations between the two countries. Several agreements will be signed at the end of the discussions.
It is not accidental that the meeting will be held in Izmir. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of a new Ä°zmir refinery at an estimated investment worth of $5 billion, a joint initiative of national Azeri oil company State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and its Turkish partner, Turcas. The Azeri share in the new refinery to be built on Petkim field is 75 percent, and it is planned to be functional in 2015.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev will also participate in the inauguration of Heydar Aliyev Vocational School constructed by Petkim in Izmir.
