Russian Patriarch: â€œThe peace among the peoples and religions in the blessing land of ancient Azerbaijan will continue to strengthenâ€

Baku â€“ APA. Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Cyril congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the Day of State Independence of Azerbaijan. According to APA, the letter reads: â€œI extend my heartfelt congratulations to You and all citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan on celebration of the landmark date - the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of state independence.
Since that time, in the country established were not only the new bases of political, economic and social system, but also was developed the system of interethnic and inter-religious relations, based on mutual respect and cooperation. This is evidence to the foresight of the political course pursued first of all by Your father and predecessor Heydar Aliyev, and now by You, already a long-term head of state.
I am evidence that despite all challenges of the present, the peace among the peoples and religions in the blessing land of ancient Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen. Along with that, dynamically is developing the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and other countries where carries out its divine service the Russian Orthodox Church.
Thank You for Your attention to the need of countryâ€™s Orthodox residents. I am convinced in further development of constructive interaction of the state power and the Eparchy of Baku.
