Dmitry Medvedev sends congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on occasion of day of state independence of Azerbaijan

Baku – APA. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. APA reports that the letter reads: “Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s state independence. Today the Republic of Azerbaijan develops dynamically, achieves noticeable successes in the economy and social sphere and strengthens its foreign political positions in the region and the world. In this day, we pay tribute to Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev, who conducted much work to form basis of modern democratic country, to strengthen the foundation of traditional friendship, kind neighborhood and mutual advantageous cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan”.

I want to emphasize our mutual intentions for further strengthening of strategic partnership and cooperation, which turned into important factor of stability and security in the Caucasus and Caspian region.

I am sure that the realization of agreements achieved in efficient dialogue, commercial and economical, investment, humanitarian and other spheres will make a further contribution to the dynamical development of many-branched bilateral cooperation for the interest of our countries and peoples.

I wish peace and progress to friendly Azerbaijani people”.
