Governor said Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan. He said Pakistan valued close brotherly relation with Azerbaijan, which were based on historical, cultural and religion commonalities. Governor thanked Azerbaijan Government for the support and donation for the flood affected people of Pakistan.
Latif Khosa further said bilateral trade and economic cooperation could be greatly enhanced.
He was of the opinion that the bilateral trade volume, which currently stood at USD 11.55 million per annum was not commensurate with the potential the two countries had for the purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Azerbaijan said the two countries had deep rooted relations and Azerbaijan would extend its cooperation and expertise in energy sector to help overcome energy crises in Pakistan.
