Colombia to support Azerbaijan at Elections for UN Security Council

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva- APA. Colombia will support Azerbaijanâ€™s candidature at the elections to non-permanent UN Security Council membership, Patti LondoÃ±o Jaramillo, Deputy Foreign Minister of Colombia told APA.
"We have appropriate experience at the UN Security Council. Azerbaijan wants to become a member of the Security Council. In this issue we support Azerbaijan. cooperation experience between our countries at the Security Council this year could be very useful," said the official.

Colombia has a year of a non-permanent Security Council membership. The 2012 United Nations Security Council election will be held on October 21 during the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly. For non-permanent membership of the Board of Eastern Europe made their nominations, Azerbaijan, Slovenia and Hungary.

The purpose of Colombian delegation headed by Patti LondoÃ±o Jaramill visiting Baku is to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan.
