Nicolas Sarkozy sends letter to Azerbaijani President

Baku â€“ APA. President of France Nicolas Sarkozy has sent a letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, APA reports. The letter reads:

â€œMr. President, Dear Ilham!

Following the valuable and successful visit, I want to express my gratitude to You for the cordial and perfect welcome in Baku.

As I said during Your visit to Paris in December, 2009, I wished to visit Azerbaijan with the view of witnessing various aspects of Your countryâ€™s economic achievements and the changes made in Baku under Your leadership. Though I had limited time, what I saw made great impression on me. I am also grateful to You and Your spouse for the strong support for the establishment of the French Lyceum in Baku. This project will be useful for both the French living in Azerbaijan and wishing to educate their children within the framework of their language and culture, and young Azerbaijanis wishing to enter our universities for the sake of serving Your country.

I reiterate my proposal to establish strategic partnership between our countries that will strengthen the already intensive relations.

Looking forward to receiving You again in Paris, I express my gratitude once more, ask you to accept my deepest respect and feelings of friendship.â€
