President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev: â€œWithout regard to the UN and other international resolutions, Armenia continues its non-constructiveness in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflictâ€

Baku â€“ APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Federal President of the Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer held a press conference. The heads of state made statements, APA reports with reference to AzerTAC news agency.

President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijani side attached great importance to the visit of Austrian president, because it is first visit of the Federal President of Austria to Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev noted that he informed the Austrian leader about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. President said without regard to the UN and other international resolutions, Armenia continues its non-constructiveness in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

The head of state said he was hopeful that the conflict will be solved soon and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan will be restored.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that economical relations between the countries are developing and currently 40 Austrian companies are operating in Azerbaijan. Touching upon the importance of the Azerbaijan-EU Declaration on Southern Corridor for gas transportation, adopted early this year in Baku, President said Azerbaijan had 2.6 trillion cubic meters of proved gas resources. It will contribute to the cooperation with the European Union in this field.

Highly appreciating the cultural cooperation, President Aliyev said that it was a great contribution to the cooperation between the people.

Noting his arrival to Azerbaijan with a large delegation, Austrian President Fischer underlined that it was an indication of great importance attached by Austria to relations with Azerbaijan.

Congratulating on 20th anniversary of restoration of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence, Austrian leader expressed confidence that every person, who would come to Azerbaijan, would be satisfied with successes achieved here in recent years.

â€œAustria is one of the first countries that created diplomatic relations with Azerbaijanâ€ â€“ said Fischer and touched on energy cooperation between the countries. Austrian President noted that Europeâ€™s energy security is in safe hands. The implementation of various projects in this sphere is a great basis and current negotiations showed again that Azerbaijan makes great contributions to the cooperation in this sphere.

Emphasizing the economic development of Azerbaijan, Austrian President underlined the importance of peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
