US Azerbaijani Diaspora: “It is absolutely illegal and immoral to provide any funds to the Armenia-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijanâ€
The Diaspora organization USAN has launched a new campaign against financial aid to Armenia and the separatist Nagorno-Karabakh regime.
“We as a community must continue to voice our strong opposition to this outrage. In the past 4 years, 2008 through 2011, Azerbaijani-Americans and all Turkic-Americans have sent tens of thousands of letters of protest to their members of Congress and media, as well as to the members of the Senate and House Appropriations Committeesâ€, say the Diaspora members voicing on all their supporters to join the campaign.
So we the Azeri Diaspora seem to be winning, as the House Subcommittee on July 26 has reduced aid to Armenia and more importantly, eliminated aid to Nagorno-Karabakh. Therefore US Azeris continue their struggle.
“I am an Azerbaijani-American who is concerned about our excessive spending, such as on foreign aid to nations that work against us and kill our soldiers. Yes, I know that foreign aid is just 1% of the total budget, but I feel strongly that even one dollar should not be sent to nations that work against U.S. and kill our soldiers. Since the Senate and House are basically stuck and considering an omnibus FY2012 appropriations bill, I would like to make my views very clear on this: I support the House Subcommittee’s on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs decision to provide no more than $40 million in aid to Armenia and stop all aid to the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijanâ€, say the Azeri Diaspora’s letters.
It is absolutely illegal and immoral to provide any funds to the Armenia-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, say US Azeris.
