International conference named â€œBuilding bridges over bordersâ€ continues in Baku

Ali Masimli: â€œThe conflicts are very serious threat for international communicationsâ€

The main discussion topic of the international conference titled â€œBuilding bridges over bordersâ€ organized by GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and Baltic Assembly and held in the Azerbaijani Parliaments was the conflicts in the South Caucasus region. APA reports that the members of Azerbaijani delegation in GUAM PA participated in these discussions more actively. Much attention was directed to the occupation policy pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan.

MP Ali Masimli, who was moderating in the part named â€œSecurity in changeable geopolitical situation: geopolitical stability in Caucasus regionâ€, said that Nagorno Karabakh, Akhazia and South Osetia conflicts are the main factors which prevent the stability in the South Caucasus: â€œThe conflicts are very serious threat for international communicationsâ€.

Masimli added that Armenia, which pursued occupational policy against neighboring countries, remained outside of great projects thereby.

Second secretary of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministryâ€™s Security Office Elchin Huseynli spoke about Nagorno Karabakhâ€™s conflict and Armeniaâ€™s policy, as well as factors preventing the conflictâ€™s settlement.

Member of Azerbaijani Parliament in GUAM PA, MP Elman Mammadov accused the international organizations of not pressing Armenia on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict: â€œI want to ask my counterparts participating here. Why do you avoid Armenia? Today Azerbaijan transfers energy to Europe, Armenia transfers drugs from Nagorno Karabakh, as well as transfers ammunitions from north to south, to east. Donâ€™t you know it?â€

Head of Georgian delegation in GUAM PA David Darchiashvili, Chairman of GUAM PA Anatoli Dimitriou, Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries Ramil Hasanov delivered a speech at the second panel held on topic â€œIntegration to Europe and role of regional organizations in this aspectâ€.
