France has a very significant role in solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the President of Republic of Azerbaijan.

As a member of Minsk Group, France has a very significant role in solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, said Ilham Aliyev, the President of Republic of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of French Lyceum in Baku, head of the state noted that the visit of French president to Azerbaijan has historic significance. â€œFor the first time the President of France pays a visit to Azerbaijan. I am sure that your visit will make a good gift to France-Azerbaijan relations. We have many-branched relations and covers all the fields. Cooperation witnessed in recent years between our countries inspires much more and ensures us that Azerbaijan-France relations will have strategic character in futureâ€, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The Head of the State noted that political relations between two states are very intensive and he thinks that the perspectives of cooperation in politics are very good. Touching Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict Nagorno Karabkh, he emphasized that France has a significant role in solution of the problem. â€œWe highly appreciate this role and hope with Your efforts conflict will be solved within International Law principles and territorial integrity of our country will be restoredâ€, said Ilham Aliyev. According to the Head of the State Azerbaijani territories and 7 regions adjacent to it are under occupation. As a conclusion of this occupation and ethnic cleansing more than one million people have become refuge and IDPs. President noted that this situation should be changed. â€œAs you noted status quo should be changed. I think there are good opportunities to change status quo and Azerbaijani side wants this much more. Because these lands are ours and they are under occupation. International organizations have already decided about this. UN security Council, OSCE, European Parliament, Council of Europe- so it means there are legal base. I am sure that more serious measures will be taken by You and the conflict will be solved. Peace and cooperation will be foundedâ€ said Ilham Aliyev, the President of Republic of Azerbaijan
