Baku â€“ APA. â€œIf Turkey doesnâ€™t recognize Armenian genocide till the end of 2011, France will take proper measuresâ€, French President Nicolas Sarkozy said while visiting the memorial complex to the â€œvictims of genocideâ€ in Yerevan, APA reports with reference to Armenia Today. He said adopting a law, which will make denial of â€œArmenian genocideâ€ a crime, would be among those measures.

Sarkozy said collective denial was even worse than individual denial. "Turkey, which is a great country, would honor itself to revisit its history like other great countries in the world have done. But if Turkey will not do this, then without a doubt it would be necessary to go furtherâ€, Sarkozy said and suggested that the French parliament might consider a law making denial of â€œArmenian genocideâ€ a crime.

Sarkozy also visited the â€œArmenian genocide museum-instituteâ€ and wrote â€œFrance doesnâ€™t forgetâ€ in the memory book.
