We want critical situation to end in some Islamic countries, Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan

The President emphasized his gratitude on increased number of embassies of Islamic countries in Azerbaijan. â€œYear by year number of ambassadors sitting behind this table increases. God willing, after several years we have to seat around bigger table. At the same time, Azerbaijan increases number of embassies in Islamic countries. This is embodiment of mutual relations and necessity. We are very eager to develop relations among all Islamic countries more rapidly. Our relations also develop within international organizations. Several years ago, we get support mostly from Islamic countries during discussions of Nagorno Karabakh issue at UN General Assembly. In its turn, Azerbaijan also supports interests of Islamic countries at all international organizations and this policy will continue after this. I am sure to strengthen Islamic solidarity is very important especially under current situation. The unity among us should be much closer. There should be more extended economic relations. Of course, we should have mutual support. However, Azerbaijan takes all necessary steps to reach these purposes. This year we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our independence. During these years, Azerbaijan demonstrated that is capable to live and develop as independent country and can live well. Sure, there is a lot to do. We try to join our country to the level of developed countries. We have possibilities for it. We have a political will, financial means, considered policy as well as a strategic line. Of course, relations also should be strengthened on international level grounded on mutual trust in order to reach our aim. We should propagandize national and religious values. Islam is religion of goodwill and friendship. Islam strengthens peace in the world. As, we should propagandize real essence of our religion more widely. In some Islamic countries witnessed hardships, problems and confrontations worry us as well. We want this critical situation to end soon and peace, cooperation, stability, prosperity to reign over the entire Islamic world.
