Ambassador Hulusi Kilic: â€œWe are satisfied with Ilham Aliyevâ€™s stance on PKK terrorist organizationâ€

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA. â€œPrime Minister Erdoganâ€™s visit has historic significance and shows how great importance Turkey gives to Azerbaijanâ€, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said at the press conference in Baku, APA reports.

He said Prime Minister Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed the bilateral relations, economic issues, the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, trade and economic relations. â€œLast year trade turnover between our countries was $2.5 billion. It is forecasted to reach $3 billion by the end of the yearâ€.

Ambassador Hulusi Kilic said Azerbaijani and Turkish leaders decided to prepare the trade agreement for the signing. They also discussed the visa issues. Ambassador said he hoped Azerbaijan would also solve the visa issue soon.

The High-Level Cooperation Council will hold its meeting in Turkey by the end of the year.

Ambassador said they were satisfied with President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s stance on PKK terrorist organization.

â€œOne of the important issues discussed at the meeting was Nagorno Karabakh. Prime Minister Erdogan was informed about the latest situation. We closed the borders with Armenia 18 years ago in a protest against the occupation of Azerbaijani lands. We want the problem to be solved. Turkey always supports Azerbaijan. The solution of Turkish-Armenian problem needs in the solution of problem between Armenia and Azerbaijanâ€.
