Ali Hasanov: The representation of the US in Minsk Group has given nothing to Azerbaijan

Ali Hasanov says the Azerbaijani public is indeed concerned over the recent steps taken by the US. He notes that the US considers Azerbaijan its strategic ally, Azerbaijani soldiers participate in the world peacemaking process together with them.
â€œAzerbaijan was the first Muslim country to support America in the struggle against the international terrorism. Azerbaijan almost nearly spoilt the relations with other Muslim countries because of this. Azerbaijan has always taken into account Americaâ€™s interests in energy policy. But the US wants to lead Armenia out of the situation without making efforts to solve Nagorno Karabakh problem. Why? Armenia does not participate in the transnational projects in the region, as it has occupied Azerbaijani territories, the situation in Armenia is getting worse, the people are leaving the country. We think the situation in Armenia should become better after the aggressive policy ends, not with the opening of border, extra aids etc. This causes concern of Azerbaijani public. Therefore, they should not blame anyone for anti-American speeches. First of all the Congress that determines the policy of Washington, American government that passes decisions under the influence of the Armenian lobby are to blame,â€ he said.

Ali Hasanov says Azerbaijan is already taking adequate steps against the policy of the US.
â€œI consider that Azerbaijan has taken adequate steps. Why should we have friendly attitude towards the country that does not have normal, friendly attitude towards Azerbaijan? In this respect Azerbaijani government and public are taking adequate steps, seeking alternative ways to solve Nagorno Karabakh problem. Public opinion is forming against the representation of the US in the Minsk Group. This representation has given nothing to Azerbaijan,â€ he said.
