With the participation of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents met six times and foreign ministers several times within a year,” says Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s final bulletin for 2009, APA reports.

The bulletin says that the attention of the international community was high enough.
“The international community realizes the inadmissibility of the status-quo in the conflict and the necessity of its soonest solution. The joint statement on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict issued by the presidents of the Minsk Group co-chairing countries in the G8 summit in L’Aquila on July 10, the joint statement of Russian and French foreign ministers, U.S. Secretary of State, Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers within the framework of the meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council in Athens on December 1 show that much attention was paid to the settlement of the conflict.”

Foreign Ministry states that Azerbaijan’s position on the settlement of the conflict is unambiguous.
“The conflict must be solved only within the framework of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and the country’s internationally-recognized borders. This position is based on the principles and norms of the international law, UN Charter, OSCE’s Helsinki Final Act and a number of international documents adopted on the settlement of the conflict. The negotiations held for peaceful settlement of the conflict, aim to coordinate the details arising from these principles.”
