The Deputy Minister stressed that it would be an event organized by the European Parliament where Azerbaijan is represented by the delegation headed by vise speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Valeh Alasgarov. I suppose one of the members of this delegation will attend the meetingâ€.

Mammadguliyev said Euronest would be established at the meeting on January 14. â€œRepresentatives of the European Parliament and 10 parliamentarians from each of six Eastern Partnership member-countries will attend the meeting. They will meet regularly and discuss cooperation between the parliaments in the field of lawmakingâ€.

The Deputy Minister said Euronest to be established on January 14 would hold its first meeting in March. According to Mammadguliyev, this new institution will be advantageous for Azerbaijan. â€œI consider that it will be positive for Azerbaijan because parliamentary cooperation for coordination the Azerbaijani legislature with the European standards is very important. I believe that this cooperation will be useful for both Azerbaijan and the European Parliamentâ€.

On January 14, the working group for establishing the Eastern Partnership Parliamentary Assembly (Euronest) will hold its first meeting. According to APA, British, Spanish, Lithuanian, Polish and Swedish representatives, as well as delegations from the partner countries will attend the meeting. They will discuss the documents prepared by the Council of Europe and proposals by the partner countries. 60 members of the European Parliament, 10 representatives from each of six partner countries will enter the Euronest.

The working group for establishing the Eastern Partnership Parliamentary Assembly (Euronest) was formed in Stockholm, on October 23, 2009. The group should elaborate the principles and working mechanism of the assembly within six months.
