Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of congratulation to Pope of Rome Benedict XVI, President’s press service told APA. The head of state congratulated Pope Benedict XVI on the occasion of the coronation on his behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people and expressed his confidence that development of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vatican would contribute to establishing human values, mutual understanding between peoples and solidarity.
“I wish you good health, success in your supreme service and peace and welfare to your compatriots,†he said.
