Report on Azerbaijani referendum to be made in PACE spring session

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œSpring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe that will start on April 27 coincides with the 60 anniversary of the organization. A number of events will be held on this occasion. Azerbaijani delegation will also participate in these events,â€ member of Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Rafael Huseynov said, APA reports. He said that report would be made in the spring session on the referendum held in Azerbaijan on March 18. Huseynov said they did not expect critical remarks in connection with the referendum.
â€œCommitments of a number of countries vis-Ã -vis the Council of Europe will be discussed during the session, we will also attended these discussions. A very urgent issue will be likely discussed, too. The question is the human rights in critical situations. We will attend the discussions and raise issue on antidemocratic elections held in Armenia on February 26, 2008. A lot of people were killed there at that time. As a result of it there are a lot of political prisoners in Armenian jails. Unfortunately, this issue has not been raised up to now and rapporteur has not been appointed on political prisoners in Armenia. We will share our views to expose Armenia,â€ he said.

Rafael Huseynov said Azerbaijani delegation had released over 100 documents in PACE within nine years. About 70 of them concern Armeniaâ€™s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan.
