Ahiska Turks Vatan (Motherland) Society addresses Turkish President, Prime Minister and Parliament Speaker

Bakuâ€“APA. Vatan (Motherland) Society of Ahiska Turks in Azerbaijan addressed Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan, the societyâ€™s chairman Ibrahim Burhanov told APA. He said they expressed deep concern over the events which could damage the Turkey-Azerbaijan relations. Reports on the Turkey-Armenia relations in Azerbaijani, Turkish and world media, particularly various comments and statements by the Armenian officials donâ€™t lead to the positive prognosis from the view of national-strategic interests of the two fraternal countries and peoples, the society said in its address. â€œThousands of Ahiska Turks alongside with Azerbaijani People are concerning over the promoting of political-diplomatic relations with an aggressive country which was established in Azerbaijani and Turkish lands and provided hostile policy against the Turks, as well as discussing the hasty and heedless decisionsâ€. Armenia occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands, violated the international law, made groundless territorial and â€œgenocideâ€ claims against Azerbaijan and Turkey as its priority, based its domestic and foreign policy and national ideology on hostility against the Turkic people and featured the mountain of Aghri in its emblem as a political-national symbol. The warming of relations with this country created serious questions. â€œThe essence of Armenian trap and complicated geopolitical processes in the world and region must be deeply evaluated and such strategic issue like Turkey-Armenia and Turkey-Azerbaijan relations have not to be leveled with business interests of separate suspicious people and groups. We hope that honorable leaders of Turkey, the country of our proud, will demonstrate the historic wisdom, political vigilance and far-sightedness and will contribute to the friendly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and national-spiritual unity of Turkic worldâ€.
