Igdir–APA. Reports on the opening of borders between Turkey and Armenia caused protests in Igdir, province of Turkey located on borders with Azerbaijan and Armenia. Chairman of Igdir Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kamil Arslan said local businessmen were against the opening of borders with Armenia. “Turkey is democratic, secular and legal state and has own policy. The economy, trade and money have no religion and race. But we think it is not correct to open borders with Armenia, which has long-term hostile policy against Turkey and doesn’t leave its claims. We don’t’ want to open borders while the lands of fraternal Azerbaijan are under the occupation. Let’s put a question of Armenian ASALA terrorist organization’s attack against Turkish diplomats on one side. Everybody knows about the Armenian territorial claims against Turkey, accusation of Ottoman Empire in the false “Armenian genocide”, Armenia’s demanding compensation and then territory from Turkey, occupying one fourth of the territory of Azerbaijan, which is “one nation and two countries” with Turkey, turning of million Azerbaijani Turks into refugees and displaced persons. The opening of borders can’t be a subject of discussions before the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from Armenian occupation, and Armenia’s leaving the “genocide”, compensation and territorial claims against Turkey”.
