Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. “I don’t believe that Turkey will open its borders with Armenia, because we, the Turkish nation, are against the opening of borders with Armenia without solution of Karabakh problem”, head of the AZFEN joint venture Batachar Baysal told APA. He said all political forces in Turkey, CHP, MHP and other parties, even the part of AKP don’t support the idea of border opening. Baysal said if borders with Armenia were opened, “Turkey would run high”.
Baysal said he didn’t believe in the opening of borders and therefore didn’t expect for any problem in the economic relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan. “On the other hand, not only the economic ties linked Turkey with Azerbaijan. There could be some disputed issues between the two fraternal countries, but that door will not be opened. If even there is an attempt to open that, Turkey certainly laid the condition before Barack Obama and Armenia related to Karabakh. There is nothing out of this”.

Baysal said Armenia couldn’t replace Azerbaijan in terms of economic relations and useful market. “Armenia has nothing. If Armenia can meet own needs, why they want to open the borders? If Armenians didn’t need in Turkey they wouldn’t entreat America to open the borders. The opening of the borders is useful only for Armenia and Turkey has no advantages in this issue. If Armenia is independent, it will approach Turkey and Azerbaijan. But some countries pressure upon Armenia and force it to some actions. If those countries don’t interfere in the Armenia’s affairs, the three countries can agree between themselves”.
