Türkiye suffers 4-1 defeat to Italy in UEFA Nations League

Türkiye’s national football team lost 4-1 to Italy on Monday in its second match in Group 1 of UEFA Nations League A, APA reports.

Türkiye reduced the deficit in the 47th minute. Oguz Aydin received the ball inside the penalty area and sent it across the six-yard box, where Baris Alper Yilmaz finished into the net to make it 3-1.

Italy scored its fourth goal in the 50th minute. Sandro Tonali received the ball near the edge of the penalty area and struck it with the inside of his foot. After the ball came back off the post, Francesco Pio Esposito headed it into the net to make it 4-1.

Türkiye missed a clear chance in the 80th minute. Arda Guler dribbled into the penalty area and laid the ball off to Demir Ege Tiknaz, who sent a low pass to Kerem Akturkoglu in front of the six-yard box. Kerem’s close-range shot went over the bar.

Italy won the match 4-1.
