Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing the authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces to over 2.44 million personnel, including 1.55 million military personnel, corresponding document was published on the official legal information portal, APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.
"The authorized strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation shall be established at 2,441,630 units, including 1,550,500 military personnel. The Government of the Russian Federation shall provide for the allocation of budgetary appropriations from the federal budget to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation necessary for the implementation of paragraph 1 of this decree. Decree No. 419 of the President of the Russian Federation of June 12, 2026, 'On Establishing the Authorized Strength of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation' shall be declared invalid," the document states.
