EU invested $20B in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital in last decade - minister

Baku. Yegane Lachinzade - APA-Economics. EU countries invested $20 billion in Azerbaijan’s fixed capital in the last decade, which makes 45.6% of total investments in this field, Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev said at the second Azerbaijan-EU business forum.

According to him, EU countries’ investments in non-oil sector amounted to $2.7 billion: “This figure makes 35% of total investments in this field. The figures indicate level of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU”.

Touching upon groundbreaking ceremony of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline held yesterday, the minister noted that this is one of obvious examples of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation: “the SGC has been included in the list of priority infrastructural projects of the EU. So, Azerbaijan will become one of most significant participants in ensuring of EU energy security. Energy cooperation attaches a strategic importance between Azerbaijan and the EU”.
