Positive balance of money transfers to Azerbaijan exceeds $530 million

In the first six months of 2026, the volume of money transfers received by Azerbaijan from abroad amounted to $738 million, Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, stated at a briefing dedicated to the release of the balance of payments, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, the volume of money transfers sent from the country abroad during the reporting period amounted to $207 million.

Thus, net inflows from money transfers amounted to $531 million.

The Russian Federation was the main source of money transfers received by the country. Money transfers worth $356.7 million were received by Azerbaijan from this country, accounting for 48.3% of the total volume.

Türkiye ranked next with $108.3 million (14.7%), followed by the US with $46.5 million (6.2%), Iran with $42.9 million (5.7%), and Georgia with $25.5 million (3.4%).

The main destinations for money transfers sent abroad from the country were Türkiye, the US, the Russian Federation, and Georgia.
